New Albany Senior High School Reviews

I have a senior at NAHS now, and I feel she is getting a very good education. I think the same things are wrong with the school are the same things that were wrong when I went there. The lower skilled kids (not special ed), kind of fall through the cracks. They go out into the world with very few skills to offer the community.

Their idea of sport education is truly amazing and teaches life-long skills socially, affectively, cognitively and physically

my kids get bullied all the time and feel extermely unsafe at ths school, i'm appalled at the facilities and the staffs capability this is why i have decide to pulled children out of this school

I feel if they would enforce the dress code and work more to make sure the kids can read and understand what they are reading, it would be a better school. But they make the rules and then don't hold them up.

This is a GREAT school, with teachers that care about the students!

I think they need more, classes for special ed, children!and more teachers , to give a little more one on one help!on others things, the school, is fine! but they need more programs, for the ones, who cant read well, or low math!

NAHS, in my opinion, is one of the best high schools I've seen. Their drama, art, and music courses add culture and an oppertunity for students to express themselves. NA has numerous honors and AP courses for all of their students willing to work, and a wonderful special education program as well. The athletics here are outstanding and teach the young adults work ethics, teamwork, and leadership skills. There are just so many wonderfull oppertunities for our children to take advantage of at this school. I wish I had had a high school like New Albany.

I have some concerns about this school. There are excellent teachers in some areas, some areas have deficits. Parent involvement is not encouraged by administration. There should be more interest placed on quality education of students. This school would benefit from a change of focus.

New Albany High School is an outstanding educational facility. Educational offerings range from Honors,AP, College prep, to regular classes. Vocational programs and special needs classes round out a full curriculum. Specialized programs include a nationally top ranked R O T C program, award winning Theatre Department, outstanding choral and orchestra departments and a 3000 watt FM radio station and cable channel T V station. Horticulture classes, art classes covering photography, drawing, sculpture, and media design are all part of the New Albany High School package. Sports include 19 activities for boys and girls and state championship banners include Boys and Girls basketball, Soccer, Tennis, and individual champions in all sports. The most impressive charactoristic of N A H S is: Every Student is Treated with respect and given the opportunity to succeed, regardless of race, religion, social or economic standing or family name. New Albany High School provides a great education.

New Albany High School is a decent school. It has it's ups and downs. It has some decent academic programs that are mostly for older students-- the Juniors and Seniors. I feel that the school spends too much of its time participating in music, art, sports, and extra-curricular activities. There are not very many programs for younger students such as the Freshman and Sophomores, though. There needs to be an increased amount of involvement with them. There is not a lot of parent involvement either. I think that this school has its priorities mixed up. It's a nice school, but it could be a lot better.

I have had two sons graduate from NAHS (2000 & 2002)with Academic Honors, needless to say the teaching is excellent. I still have one son attending who is doing excellent also. NAHS also has a variety of athletics which should interest most students.

My daughter is a senior at NAHS. She had previously attended a private school, K-8. I have been extremely pleased with the education at NAHS. The extracurricular activities offered are tremendous, and she has had wonderful teachers. We will miss the school!

I have serious concerns about overcrowding and the use of teachers not familiar with the subject they are teaching. The teacher to student ratio is very misleading. Teachers do not return phone calls probably because of the student to teacher ratio.

Our school is the best! I have a special eduacation child, and this school goes the extra mile at every step of the way. I also have another child that is going into NAHS this fall, and I am positive that she will be treated the best also! Go Bulldogs!
